On a 20-year career path spanning photojournalism, newspaper reporting, magazine writing, magazine editing and travel writing, John Blodgett is a freelance journalist building a specialty in health, science and environmental reporting. He is also writing a journalistic memoir on weight loss, identity and related topics. Blodgett has been on the staff of or a contributor to publications including the Daily Herald, The Daily Inter Lake, Boise Weekly, Idaho Press-Tribune, Utah Business, Utah CEO, Salt Lake, City Weekly, and numerous Fodor’s Travel guides. He has a master’s degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Journalism and is based in the mountain town of Idyllwild, California, 100 miles east of Los Angeles (and willing to travel). He enjoys hiking in the mountains, watching documentaries, fostering dogs and learning how to play the bass guitar.
